Duotone Rebel
Who's the Rebel for?
Beginner: Don't be put off by the High Performance piece. The Rebel is super friendly with a real sheet and go (bar put on and go) feeling. The large dopower possibilities give you a safe feeling and the pull of the Rebel makes it easy to start water. Perfect first kite if your future plans are also in freeride.
Freerider: The ultimate freeride kite? That could be just like that. The Rebel sails very easily upwind and is very easy to handle. Even in strong winds and situations that you are overpowered he is still good to act. He jumps very easy and has a big sweet spot, so he jumps very easy and very high with a lot of hangtime.
Freestyler hooked in: BIG air with thick hangtime, old skool tricks with mega long hangtime. Maybe you'll see some of those kitefilms of people who just hang in the air with a jump. Chances are it was a Rebel. If you really want to do a lot of kiteloops, you might want to watch a Duotone Evo or Dice.
Freestyler/Wakestyler unhooked: If this is your thing you might want to watch a C-shape like kite like the Cabrinha FX, GA Pure, Duotone Dice or even Vegas.
Wave rider: This is not where the Rebel comes into his own. Sailing with your directional every now and then is fine, but if you really want to take on waves, he actually pulls a little too hard for the beauty.
Strapless freestyler: For this you can better watch for example the Duotone Neo.
Foiler: Same story as wave. It can be done, but it can be done better.
Now I want the Eurofun story, what a kite it is:
For all people who want to jump high, want thick hangtime and don't want to go into the waves with a directional surfboard or do kiteloops with 30+ knots we have the Duotone Rebel here. The High performance freeride machine from Duotone. And high perfomance he certainly is.
Because of the super good depower the Rebel has the largest wind range of all Duotone kites, so you can sail in the strong wind for a long time. Everything to put that new PR! The sweetspot is very big and he jumps very easy.
But as mentioned before, don't get scared if you just started kiting and think: "oh man I don't want to jump at all and certainly not high!
The Freeride characteristics of the Rebel also make it a very nice first kite. Sails easily upwind and because he has a lot of depower you can sail him even longer if it suddenly starts to blow a little harder (if it really blows hard of course the water off to grab a smaller size). All in all it's very easy to handle as a beginner and it's very nice to have a nice stable kite. And if you want to continue freeriding it is also a top kite for many years.
What's with it:
- Kite bag
- Kite
What's not there? I need it:
- Bar (preferably a bar of the same brand because of y-splitting otherwise a Duotone Clickbar)
- Pump
- Wetsuit
- Trapeze
- Feel like kiting
- Board
- 2nd and 3rd kite (optional of course, but very nice)
Plus points:
- Jumps easy and high
- Lots of hangtime
- Lots of depower and largest wind range of all Duotone kites
- Sails very easy
Cons:
- Less suitable for strapless and kiteloops
What else do I need to know?
If you buy your kites from us, you have to wave if you see one of us on the water!
