Brunotti Onyx
Who's the Buster for?
Beginner: Very suitable! We also sell this board a lot in our starter sets. Easy water start and upwind.
Freerider: Yes, great board for freeriding. Are enough experienced freeriders who are still cruising with their first Onyx.
Freestyler hooked in: Great board to do all your jumps with, but if you really want to get into it, you'd better buy a slightly more advanced board.
Freestyler/Wakestyler unhooked: You can do some unhooked tricks with it, but you can't ride it with boots. So it's not ideal for the dedicated wakestyle rider.
Now I want the Eurofun story, what kind of board is it?
The Onyx is a super nice board to start and learn your first few seasons of kiteboarding with. It's specially made to be easy to start with and to help you as much as possible. The Onyx will give you a little push in all the conditions you get into as a beginner, which is of course very pleasant. So are you looking for your first board? Then the Onyx is your board.
Plus points:
- Perfect for beginners to advanced
- Easy water start
- Easy upwind
- Easy by the chop (wave)
Cons:
- Less suitable for high performance freestyle.
What's with it:
- Board
- Finning
What's not there, but it's necessary:
- Foot pads
- Grabhandle
- Feel like kiting
General size indication:
The size of a kiteboard remains something personal with no real rules.
This has to do with how much experience you have, in what conditions you go on the water, what you are going to do with it and above all what you like.
The rule of thumb is that beginners want a slightly larger board to make it easier to start the water and get upwind.
And advanced sailors want a slightly smaller board because in situations where the wind is strong, you can give the kite a bit longer back pressure and therefore can jump higher, and / or more maneuverable.
Again, no rule, but below are 2 tables to give you a good idea. If you stick to this, it goes well anyway.
